Carbopol (Carbopol Ring charcoal)
Posted on August 5, 2011 | No CommentsSorry, that I posted 3 different Reply's. I didn't find, how to put inside photo and make big text same time. Total, it is not advertising at all. But it is really strange, that on US market which is one of the largest and where is so many new thing, there are no ANY info about Carbopol or RING. All germanies and russian know this charcoal like only 1 good charcoal from quick-light. To use it better, you can crush regular Carbopol on 4-5 small pcs., and put it on bowl. To use RING better, you can make small spiral from foil, and put charcoal on spiral. It will help to control temperature. *Smell : *smell 4-5 sec., when it is lighting up. After it start be red - no smell at all. *9/10* (because they have smell when lighting :-) ) *Taste :* I think, it is only 1 charcoal from quick-light, which is not change taste at all. *10/10* *Time : *1 tablet 35 mm is burn near 30 min, when you smoke. But I think it is enough, because you can burn next tablet without any problem. *9/10* *Ash : *Snow-white ash. Color of ash is one important thing, which can show you does it include bad chemicals or not. *10/10* *TOtal : 9,5/10 * I use this charcoal more than 4 years. It is the best charcoal for me. You don't need to spend time to burn CoCo charcoal, or wood charcoal. QUality of smoking same. Problem only, that after 30-40 min you have to change tablet. For me it spends maximum 20 sec. P.S. Posted on July 16, 2011 | No Comments*Size*: about as thick as a coconara but skinnier, log shaped. *Ash:* More ash than a coconara but not so much that it was piling up on the foil, just slightly more. *Duration:* about 35 minutes, and only cooked the top half of my shisha, so i had a little bit longer session than usual, no complaints, but you will have to use multiple rounds of coals if you want to get through a normal sized bowl. *Taste/Smell:* non existent. Takes about 10 minutes to light, and about another 8 after that to be hot enough to smoke with. Rating: 7/10, you may go through a little more coals, but they are cheap, 13 dollars for 1kg, or 168 coals. so i have no real complaints. they work best when you put them in a 'T' shape, one on the edge the other across the center. with both in the center it tends to burn the shisha making it harsh and bad tasting, with both on the edge you dont get enough heat. -

Posted on June 13, 2011 | No CommentsGot a box of Exoticas today because everywhere was out of coconaras. I'm pretty disappointed. They ash so much that they need constant tending to keep the bowl going and despite the size it takes two of them (one after the other) to smoke the whole bowl... vs. two coconaras which are much smaller. At $11 they aren't that much cheaper either. Silver "Japanese style" coals are better in my book, despite the campfire smell. -
