So on many occasions i have handed out advice to those interested in hearing but only one person has truly taken an active interested in the appreciation of hookah. Like many of us he started with a cheap chinese hookah, graduating to an even cheaper one. He used bad ql's and only smoked SB he got local. Well after smoking with me i decided to pass on my advice, and got him set-up with a bambino, some cocos, a phunnel and various brands of shisha. Since then when we smoke i always set everything up, but yesterday when i was cleaning my pipe i asked if he would do the honors. He packed and did all the heat management, and needless to say even brought over his own tobacco, some Orange Soda infact. Suprisingly enough it was one of the best bowls i smoked, great flavor and perfect clouds. I felt like a father watching his child on his first bike. Well maybe not like that but i was certainly proud to pass on the information i have soaked up from all of you that have been generous enough to share what you learned.

Just wondering if anyone else has taken it upon themselves to introduce and guide into the ways of hookah?


Thank you all for the help over this last year or so, it was great to grow from someone who burned every bowl on a dirty hookah to someone who is finally satisfied with almost every bowl smoked.

Or you can use a toothpick or a poker to poke through the foil, shisha, and right into the bowl's holes mid-session. I've had to do this once or twice before I learned how to fluff up the shisha before covering it with foil.

My friend and I were talking the other day about which shisha gave the best buzz, and, despite our differing opinions, I'm curious as to what other hookah smokers think. What shisha gives the best buzz in your opinion? This is very general, taking into consideration that certain shisha needs to be "acclimated" and what not, and of course the issue of coals vs. amount of smoke contributes to what some would consider a "good buzz." That aside, however, what gives you the best buzz all around?

If there is a topic already about this, hit me with it, because I'm looking for some good buzz action!

Just stopped by my local shop to pick up some AF, for years they have retailed it for between $12-14 a tub but no more then that. Tonite I went in and the owner said he had what I wanted in stock but that taxes had just gone up on tobacco and the price is now $24.99. I said no thanks, but had a long convo with him about prices, he was utterly surprised that everywhere online was still retailing for cheaper and told me to order from them. I've known this guy for years and he has no reason at all to lie about taxes, I mean I shop there enough for him to hand me a freebie every so often. SO does anyone know anything about some tax increase that just went through in the last 2-3 weeks? He said it works out to $1 per 10g of shisha now with the new taxes.

So, As most of you know i've been using exoticas since they came out or damn cclose to it. I've watched them go from so hard you had to use a hack saw to cut them to so soft they were shattering in the box before we even got them.

The new improved exoticas are looking damn good so far. Much denser for longer lasting burn, tight ash (though its grey) and they are scored in 2 places so you can break them easier. I am only on my second box but they seem consistent so far. I can say at this point im quite pleased and can go back to recommending them without qualification. Lets hope this continues to be the case.

Hey, all!

Some of you may have wondered where I disappeared to, since I used to post on this forum constantly. Well, I decided to quit hookah for a while. I was heavily addicted to it. It got to be a 5 time a day habit, and I was going through lots of shisha and money. Purchasing coals every 2 weeks, like 4 250g packs of shisha every month. It was crazy. It was as bad as a cigarette addiction. So I gave it up for several months.

But I recently decided to smoke a little bit, and what I had left of my shisha was some kind of fruity I didn't like. So I'm curious if there's any non-fruity, non-minty flavors out there you guys recommend. Fruity, the smell and taste of it, really makes me physically sick to my stomach. I need a more robust type flavor. Like coffee without the cream and sugar, or a nice strong beer. Something manly.

Spoke with the distributor over in seekonk, he actually is in Egypt at the moment and he said the mizo gum will be available in 3-4 weeks. He said he is shipping it from Egypt this week.

Also he said that Nakhla has decided to make a full line of Mizo consisting of the flavors they already have plus the new Gum, Orange, Raspbery, as well as many more, he said they haven't clarified yet what else will be in the line up.

He said every couple months expect a new flavor. Which seems so far to be right, watermelon and guava came in the beginning of summer, and now gum will be here in a month so every 2-3 months i'd guess for a new flavor.

Just a heads up for the Nakhla/Mizo fans.

Water or a ice cold brew. Other then that mostly water. Water is my game i drink about 2 gallons a day. As for smell i just hope the shisha be smelling good for my room sake.

I bought a small 10-12 inch hookah from a cig shop for $20 and some times it hits good sometimes not. I've ordered a 31 Syrian hookah and was wondering if I should expect more from it then my 10-12 inch one
