Proper Use of a Coal Screen

I am still learning about hookah, but here's my take on coal screens:

I've figured out to flip the screen such that the indented side stands upward. This keeps the coals further off the shisha, and I get a nice long session with good flavour.

Seal... I'm not sure I agree that the seal makes any difference. Consider this: when one draws on the pipe, air is drawn through holes in the foil or screen which aren't covered with coals, right? Therefore, worrying about sealing any coal cover seems rather irrelevant to me unless one has completely covered the foil or screen in coals.

As the video suggests, I've always ashed and circulated my coals. I thought that was how it is done. I've also always used a wind cover. I usually use two coals, whether quick light or wood.

Works for me...
